TRUCK DELIVERY

We use PackShipUSA for much of our truck shipping needs. PackShipUSA picks up the finished Amish items from the Amish craftsmen and warehouses and takes them to its warehouse in Orville, Ohio. They inspect the furniture, then professionally wrap and package it. In 5-10 business days, the merchandise is ready to ship. It is released to a freight company who carries it to your area.

Packaging Description: During the packaging process, all "touch” points (edges, corners, sharp points) of the furniture are packaged with a protective foam called Foam In Place (FIP). FIP is manufactured foam that is dispensed with a machine in a liquid state. While being dispensed, it expands and conforms to the object, creating a mold as it sets up.

This creates a custom fit around the touch points of each furniture piece. A gray film is placed between the furniture and the liquid foam so the FIP does not touch the furniture. All flat sides and tops are protected with 3/4" polystyrene sheets. A custom box made from 275 pound test, double wall cardboard sheeting covers the furniture piece. After boxing, large furniture pieces are strapped to pallets for easy transferring by the carrier.

PackShipUSA contacts you the customer to provide the tracking number, estimated arrival date, and receiving instructions.

The merchandise is delivered via CURBSIDE, or INSIDE DELIVERY WITH SETUP.

CURBSIDE DELIVERY

When the furniture is at a destination terminal near your home, PackShipUSA will call you to schedule a delivery. The delivery will be made with one driver, and the trailer will not have a liftgate. The customer must have someone on hand at delivery to provide assistance to the driver during unloading. It is the customer’s responsibility to get the furniture inside the home. After unloading and before the driver leaves, the customer should inspect the furniture for damage If damage is found, the customer should note the damage in the appropriate box on the Delivery Receipt.

INSIDE DELIVERY WITH SET-UP

When furniture is shipped to a customer for inside delivery with set up, a specialty carrier such as Bekins or Mayflower will perform the delivery to the customer’s home with two men in a 45’ or 48’ trailer with a ramp or liftgate. The two men will carry the furniture to the rooms requested and set up the furniture. This method costs about $250 more than the curbside method.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR NOT FULFILL ANY ORDER. IN PARTICULAR, WE ARE NOT ABLE TO FILL ORDERS FOR COMMERCIAL USAGE.

ABOUT OUR FAMILY

Our son Eddie Bedford lived with Muscular Dystrophy for 13 years and went home to Jesus in 1980.

Our son Bill Bedford lived with Muscular Dystrophy for 43 years. He helped found this website. He went home to the Lord in 2013.

My wife Kathleen Ann Bedford - Married 56 years- went home to Jesus on 9/19/2022 and to our two sons Eddie and Bill after an Alzheimer's related illness. A friend said, "Heaven is rejoicing in her presence!"  Ed Bedford

A friend said:

Ed: I remember you and Kathy as you mourn her loss. You blessed her so beautifully as you worked so hard to keep her at home with you. She fought the good fight against Alzheimer’s and is at peace with her maker. You fought the good fight against Alzheimer’s with her and your halo may be waiting. But, you are still alive and given the gift of earthly life for perhaps several years yet. Enjoy them, celebrating the family you have loved so absolutely beautifully.

One great reason that Eddie and Bill and Kathy had such full and productive lives was due to our daughter Sharon (Bedford) Douglas and her great help to us from her time as an infant. Her husband Dan Douglas stepped forward over 26 years ago since their engagement to add a level of comfort and wonderful activities for Bill and Kathy and me, Ed, first at their home in Michigan and later when they moved to Rocky River, Ohio! From almost the time they were infants our granddaughters, Zoe age 24, and Lucy age 16 were always there for Bill and Kathy, and me.

When Kathy went to the nursing home when I took ill, Sharon and Dan handled all the financial and bureaucratic details to get Kathy enrolled permanently at Ennis Court. They and Zoe and Lucy visited her there regularly with flowers and games and news of the family. Kathy was taken care of very well there and enjoyed the food and the staff and the fresh flowers inside and outside the home. She was happy there until her transfer to hospice, almost a year later.
